What is We Meet?

We Meet is a group messaging service. We Meet enables you to send/receive messages to your groups of friends and also know their current locations.

Is We Meet free?

For now We Meet service is free to use. But please remember there will be standard SMS rates as levied by your mobile operator will apply when you create groups, invite members and send chat messages.

Is We Meet service available outside of India?

We Meet is currently available only in India.

Is We Meet service available to whole of India?

We are currently using a SMS long code of Bangalore, which means for people of Bangalore, local SMS rates would apply when they use the service. Technically it would work in the whole of India, but the rates would be higher (depending on what your mobile operator charges) when you use the service outside of Bangalore.

SMS Delivery is un-reliable, so how does it affect the We Meet service?

As we all know SMS are some time lost (though the % is very low) and since We Meet uses SMS as a transport bearer, the service does suffer when SMS are lost. However we have taken every effort to build reliability mechanism in our service so that the critical parts of the service - like Registration, Group creation etc are reliable.

How to register in We Meet?

After download the client from menu open the installation folder and then select the We Meet icon.Finally click on the first time user to register.

Are there any restrictions while registering in We Meet?

Yes,First name and Last name fields will not accept more than 10 characters.

Can I use text based service after installing We Meet client?

No.Currently you cannot use text based service once you install and register using We Meet Client. Also remember that once you install the client, the groups that you were part of when using the text-only client will not show up in the java client. This is an enhancement which we will release in the next few version.

I moved from a text only service to a Java client, will it have all my information of the previous groups that I was part of?

Currently we dont sync back your group information when you migrate to a Java client from a text only client. What this means is once you install the Java client, you are not going to see the groups that you were part of before.

Does We Meet run's on Non-Nokia device's?

The Java client run's only on Nokia devices. The text only client runs on every device which supports SMS.

What models of Nokia are supported?

We Meet run's on both the S60 (E71, N95, N97 and others) and S40 (5130XP, 3600, SuperNova? and others). We Meet will run on any Nokia device which has Java support. We have done a thorough testing on E71, N95, 3600 slide, 5130XP & 7210. While it should work on other model's of Nokia (S40 & S60), there could be some device specific issues. We would keep this site updated with the devices supported. Please note, the UI on N95 8GB has some performance issues.

How to Create a group and invite members?

From Device java client,Click on Select and create a group.Enter group name and add group members

How to accept a group as participant?

Click on the group name and when prompted select 'Yes' to accept and 'No'to decline.

How to send chat message to group?

Click on the group,Enter chat in the text area and click on send.

How many groups can I create?

You can create up to 15 groups. You could be participate in as many groups as possible

What if I want to create more than group limit?

You can turn off some groups.

How many members can be invited to a group?

Group is limited to 5 members.

Can I change a group name?

No,You cannot change group name.

Are there an restrictions regarding my group name?

Group names must be more than 15 charcters.Group names can have letters,numbers.Underscore(_), space and other symbols are not allowed.

How to block a group?

Highlight the group and click on select then 'Block Group'.

How to turn service ON/Off?

From mobile java client click on select then Settings.Click on Turn ON/Off We Meet according to your needs.

How to turn location ON/0ff?

From mobile java client click on select then Settings.Click on Disable/Enable location according to your needs.

How to add/remove members to a existing group?

From mobile device open the group.Click on select and select 'Group Info'.Click options again to Add/Remove Group members.

How to delete a group?

Hightlight the group click select and delete the group.

Can a group member send chat messages to all in my group?

Yes once group member accepts your invitation.He/She can post messages to all members in the group.

Can I send messages longer than 140 charcters to a group?

Yes you can send .But it might be broken into smaller text messages if other participants are not java based client.
